Where are you from originally?

I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised most of my life there. We moved around a little bit when I was younger and lived in Utah, Illinois and Nevada until my parents divorced when I was 6. I grew up raised by just my mom and had a younger sister, Jenny, in a 2 bedroom apartment I have lots of memories as a kid but the one that I remember the most is that I have always shared a room with my Jenny growing up. She was messy and I was neat. Even at a young age, I was into staging! My side of the room was in order, styled fashionably and I was constantly rearranging things if it didn’t look right. Another hobby of mine is baking! I loved going over to my Aunt Sue’s house to bake with her. She was an amazing baker and I was so happy to inherit her recipes!

Did you attend college and if yes, where did you go to school at?

I attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and received a BS in Urban Geography. Go Hawks!

I worked for urban planning firms after graduation in both Texas and California.

Do you have a hobby?

Do I have a hobby? Oh my, do I have hobbies! I would say that crafting is my number one hobby! I just love crafting! I love scrapbooking, making handmade cards, memory planning to keep up with my family’s busy lives and making treat packaging! I also love to bake and read! I think i got my love of baking from scratch from the days with my Aunt Sue as a kid! And my family and I love traveling! We have visited Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Washington DC, New York, Italy, Greece, Spain, London and so many more other places!

Are you married and have any children?

I married my high school sweetheart, Byron. We’ve been married a little over 22 years now, and have been together for 30 years! Wow, can’t believe I just said that! He also went to the University of Iowa as well! After we were married, the company he worked for at the time, Kimberly-Clark, moved us around every 1-2 years. So we have lived in California (got married there), Texas, Wisconsin and Georgia. We have been in Georgia the longest now! Going on 18 years!

We have four children:

Jack, who is 17 and a graduating Lambert high school senior this year. He played football all through high school and plans to attend the University of Iowa this fall. And no we didn’t bribe him to go there!

Eleanor, 15 a sophomore at IMG Academy. She is a lacrosse goalie and wants to play in college. She also loves all things cosmetology!

Sam, 12, well almost 13, is a 7th grader at South Forsyth Middle School and plays lacrosse and football too! We can find him in the gaming room when he’s not at school or sports!

And Amelia, 9, who is a 4th grader at Sharon Elementary and who I would say is the glue that holds are crazy busy family together! She is into horseback riding and just loves to talk!

Oh yeah, I can’t forget our four legged friends that we have too! We have two cats, Lily and Rose and two wild and crazy dogs, Hawkeye a 2 year old Sheepadoodle and Wrigley, a 4 year old Goldendoodle.

Do you have a favorite restaurant and or food that you love?

Well I would say my favorite restaurant is Sugos. I just love the food and the atmosphere! It is like when I was little and we would go out with family to these Italian restaurants owned by people that were from Italy and they made the best food! It’s Italian homecooking and a friendly staff that feels like family!

I would say my favorite food, and my husband would have to agree with this because of the excitement I get when I find somewhere that has it, is Taco Pizza! A thin crust with a refried bean meat mixture and topped with all the taco trimmings! It’s muah! Delicious!

What is your favorite room to stage and why?

I would have to say that my favorite room to stage is the living room. There are so many different parts to it, such as placement, how much furniture/decor, color, and style. I love being able to use my creativity to make it all work! And a funny tidbit…I love decorative pillows! Our home does not have one spot where there is not a pillow!
